7: You Must Remember This

So you’ve probably heard of this show. Karina Longworth’s You Must Remember This is pretty damned phenomenal. Covering the first 100 years of Hollywood, Karina tells stories of the golden age of cinema. Silent stars, blonde bombshells, the injustice of the blacklist, feuds and friendships, lovers and lushes. This is a documentary series that fuels my fascination for classic cinema and old Hollywood. A binge-worthy podcast that rewards the soul.

8: I Was There Too

Matt Gourley’s show features interviews with actors, filmmakers and crew members from classic TV and Film. The range of insiders involved is huge and you’ll often discover perspectives on a show or feature that you’d not already heard or read about previously. Matt’s is a particularly chilled show forgoes flashiness and bombast for engaging conversation and superb factual nuggets.

Regular type person by day, film vigilante by night. Spent years as a 35mm projectionist (he got taller) and now he gets to watch and wax lyrical about all manner of motion pictures. Daryl has got a soft spot for naff Horror and he’d consider Anime to be his kryptonite.
