#BRWC10: Ten Film Podcast Recommendations

Soundtracking with Edith Bowman

3: Large Marge Sent Us

Two awesome members of #LadyPodSquad, The Sweeties cover the length and breadth of nostalgia cinema. Personal favourite episodes include Empire Records, The Breakfast Club and more recently, 10 Things I Hate About You. These ladies have been friends for years and years, which comes across in their rapport. Their discussions are often passionate, heartfelt and funny as fuck. If you’re looking for a show that’ll make you grin from ear to ear while reminding you of your first viewings of 80s and 90s classics, then this is a huge recommend.

4: Saturday Night Movie Sleep Overs

From two sassy American gals to two equally sassy guys from NY. Saturday Night Movie Sleep Overs covers similar ground but the level of detail is insane. Dion and J.Blake ramble and laugh their way through the movies that they would’ve watched during sleepovers with friends at a formative age. Come for the exhaustive coverage of The Taking of Pelham 123, stay for Dion’s impression of Christopher Walken and J.Blake’s buckets of pizza. This show is a comfort to the ears and great for long commutes. Honestly, what kind of pervert only listens to short podcast episodes anyway?

Regular type person by day, film vigilante by night. Spent years as a 35mm projectionist (he got taller) and now he gets to watch and wax lyrical about all manner of motion pictures. Daryl has got a soft spot for naff Horror and he’d consider Anime to be his kryptonite.
