Andor: Trailer Talk

Andor: Trailer Talk

After ‘Rise of Skywalker’ and the majority of the Disney+ shows, it’s safe to say that I have lost interest in ‘Star Wars’. While ‘The Mandolarian’ and ‘Star Wars: Visions’ were unique and interesting, the former fell into the same trap as the other shows and recent films, which is diverting back to familiar characters and stories. The world of Star Wars is huge and has lots of opportunities to tell varying stories from different characters and species, yet it doesn’t which is a shame. However, I hold hope that the new show ‘Andor’ might be this beacon of hope that ‘Star Wars’ still has something new to offer.

‘Andor’ is the next chapter in the ‘Star Wars’ saga and is another Disney+ series that will be released at the end of September this year.

Usually, if a trailer hardly shows anything concerning its plot, I find this exciting; a trailer shouldn’t include main plot details, just a small summary. However, this trailer is an unfortunate exception purely because I have no idea if it’s going to return to stories that don’t need to be revisited. But the willingness to make this look cinematic is very exciting and it does look fantastic. And, while ‘Star Wars’ have focused on rebellions before, ‘Andor’ has the potential to provide a different angle on the idea.

Despite being uninterested in ‘Star Wars’ now, ‘Andor’ has piqued my interest a little; it looks fantastic and the concept around it seems interesting. However, it’ll need to work hard to differentiate itself from previous ‘Star Wars’ properties of a similar idea. But, just like ‘The Mandolorain’ and ‘Star Wars: Visions’, I’m happy to give this show a chance.

Megan’s taste in films are interesting: her favourite films are ‘Space Jam’, Studio Ghibli’s ‘The Cat Returns’, as well as horror films ‘Saw’, ‘Drag Me To Hell’ and ‘Ju-On: The Grudge’. When she’s not watching films, she’ll be spending precious hours playing ‘Crash Bandicoot’.
