Hayley Williams Edition: Bits & Pieces – The phone is dead. And it’s ringing. Director Scott Derrickson returns to his terror roots and partners again with the foremost brand in the genre, Blumhouse, with a new horror thriller. Finney Shaw, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.

Apple TV+ today unveils the trailer for the highly anticipated thriller series “Suspicion,” which is set to premiere globally on Friday, February 4, 2022. The eight-episode, heart-pounding drama starring Academy Award-nominated actress Uma Thurman (“Kill Bill,” “Pulp Fiction”), will premiere exclusively on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday.

COSMIC DAWN stars Rowe as Aurora, a young woman who joins the UFO cult ‘The Cosmic Dawn’ to help understand her own mother’s alien abduction that she witnessed as a child. Lured in by mysterious book store owner Natalie (Chriqui), Aurora starts to realize that the cult, as cults usually are, has more of a sinister agenda. Writer/director Moneo says that he based the film off his own extraterrestrial encounter as a child. The film is an intense, colorful look at this strange community, floating on the borders between thriller, horror, and sci-fi. 

Street-smart thief Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan 500 years ago. What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother…but only if they can learn to work together.

On the outskirts of N’djamena, the capital of Chad, fiercely determined single mother Amina (Achouackh Abakar Souleyman) works tirelessly to provide for herself and Maria, her 15-year-old daughter (Rihane Khalil Alio). Suddenly, Amina’s fragile existence collapses: she learns Maria is pregnant, and has been kicked out of her Islamic girls’ school. Maria does not want this pregnancy, but abortion in Chad is condemned both by religion and law. Abandoned by her own family years before for her pregnancy with Maria, Amina is determined to offer a different fate for her child. As mother and daughter fight to procure a simple procedure made inaccessible by their patriarchal government, they must navigate a treacherous network of male doctors, relatives, and neighbors, forging a connection stronger than any they’ve ever known before.
