For the 8th time Lichtspielklub presents new (and short) films from Great Britain! For four days they’ll show drama, comedy, thriller, documentary, animation, experimental films and much more from the home country of dirty weather. Made by British and Irish directors, film students and other filmmakers that are living and working in the UK and Ireland.

For the third year in a row the best short film will be awarded. In addition there will be a workshop with lecturers from the University of Bedfordshire/UK, discussions, concerts, parties, open screening and exhibition at one of Berlin’s most beautiful art house cinemas the Sputnik Kino and other venues in Berlin (tba).

Being the only film festival in Germany that exclusively showcases British short films our aim is to screen the best works by professionals as well as students. Retrospective screenings in the past years were dedicated to the work of horror animation filmmaker Robert Morgan (2013) and Warp Films short films from the past ten years (2014). Q+A’s took place after the screenings.

They are looking for short documentaries, drama, science-fiction, comedy, horror, animation, thriller, experimental films and music videos by British and Irish filmmakers, students and others living and working in the UK and Ireland.

The submission form can be downloaded from our website www.britishshorts.de and contains all entry requirements and guidelines for submission.

There is no submission fee.
Submission deadline is 14th November 2014.

The festival programme will be announced on www.britishshorts.de in late December 2014.
