Death Watch In Cinema

film reviews | movies | features | BRWC Death Watch In Cinema

Death Watch is back on the big screen this month.

Roddy (Harvey Keitel) has a camera implanted in his brain. He’s been hired by a television producer to film a documentary of terminally ill Katherine (Romy Schneider), without her knowledge. His footage will then be run on the popular TV series, “Death Watch”. Bertrand Tavernier’s stunningly prophetic sci-fi noir is like nothing else. Opaquely scripted by the brilliant David Rayfiel (Three Days of the Condor, Jeremiah Johnson) and filmed in Glasgow while it was undergoing massive renovation, it is a mad trip into the heart of big brother.
