Thor: Love And Thunder – Trailer Talk

Yesterday saw the long-awaited trailer for the next ‘Thor’ film, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’. With the film being released in the summer, it was about time it was shown.

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ sees Thor (Chris Hemsworth) join the Guardians of the Galaxy, after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, and continue his adventures with them.

Considering the tone of Thor’s last film, ‘Ragnarok’, it makes sense not only for him to join the Guardians but for the light hearted tone to continue. With Gamora now gone from the group, Thor has shown that he’s a suitable and funny replacement.

The trailer’s also great because it hardly shows much. So many trailers nowadays display too much of the film, but this goes the opposite way: its only purpose is to tell fans that Thor belongs in the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, I do wish its final reveal had been left as a surprise: Natalie Portman as a female Thor. She looks fantastic as the character but it should’ve stayed in the film as a surprise.

While the trailer for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ doesn’t show much of the film, it’s still enough to get fans excited for the next entry. And, while I wish the final reveal hadn’t been included, the trailer shows that Thor is a great fit for the Guardians, especially given the tone of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.

Megan’s taste in films are interesting: her favourite films are ‘Space Jam’, Studio Ghibli’s ‘The Cat Returns’, as well as horror films ‘Saw’, ‘Drag Me To Hell’ and ‘Ju-On: The Grudge’. When she’s not watching films, she’ll be spending precious hours playing ‘Crash Bandicoot’.
