Bits & Pieces: Almost December Edition

Join the party in spring 2019 when Entertainment One’s (eOne) beloved preschool series Peppa Pig will be heading back into cinemas nationwide for an all-new big screen adventure to mark the 15 year anniversary of the nation’s favourite little piggy. Set for release from April 2019, Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun is perfectly timed to entertain little ones ahead of the Easter holidays.

Producer Johan Lundström and Director Jonatan Etzler’s live action short film Get Ready With Me is an unpredictable thriller that combines grim satire with the topical issues of teen angst, social media and fame. This important film stars Swedish Academy Award winner Shanti Roney and newcomer Miriam Benthe.

THE AFTERMATH is set to open across the UK through Fox Searchlight Pictures on 1 March 2019. The film stars Academy Award®-nominee Keira Knightley (Colette, The Imitation Game, Atonement), Emmy Award®-winner Alexander Skarsgård (The Legend of Tarzan, Big Little Lies) and Jason Clarke (First Man, Zero Dark Thirty, Everest), and is directed by James Kent (Testament of Youth) with a screenplay by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse (Race), and Rhidian Brook, based on Brook’s novel of the same name.

Andy Richter (“Conan”), Alec Sulkin (‘’Family Guy’’) Matt Selman (‘’The Simpsons’’) Damien Fahey (‘’Family Guy’’) influencer Elijah Daniel and Danny Zuker (‘’Modern Family’’) feature in Funny Tweets, an enlightening and side-splittingly funny exploration of the 140-character laffer! From director-producer Laurie McGuinness and writer Dan Duvall, Funny Tweets follows a cashier manager whose ‘Funny Tweets’ help him connect with Andy Richter and the writers of ‘’Family Guy’’ and “The Simpsons”. Through interviews, they share how powerful a ‘Funny Tweet’ can be. Available December 4th on digital from Upstream Flix.

Join cult film icons Caroline Munro (The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter) and Martine Beswicke (Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde, Thunderball) as they present their latest film HOUSE OF THE GORGON: A Gothic Fairytale on Friday, 25 January at the Regent Street Cinema. Filmed in the style of the classic horror films of yesteryear, HOUSE OF THE GORGON brings together four original Hammer film stars for the first time in a feature film! The story follows the young Isobel Banning (Georgina Dugdale – Caroline Munro’s real-life daughter) as she travels with her mother (Veronica Carlson, Dracula Has Risen From the Grave, Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed) to marry her university sweetheart Dr. Julian Pritchard (Joshua Kennedy). Along their journey they meet the mysterious Father Llewellyn (Christopher Neame, Dracula A.D. 1972, License to Kill), the local priest, who refuses to divulge the terrible fact that two ancient gorgon sisters (Caroline Munro and Martine Beswicke) have taken up residence in the nearby manor house.

A DOG’S WAY HOME stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Ashley Judd, Jonah Hauer-King, Alexandra Shipp, with Wes Studi and Edward James Olmos, and arrives in UK cinemas January 25th. A Dog’s Way Home chronicles the heartwarming adventure of Bella, a dog who embarks on an epic 400-mile journey home after she is separated from her beloved human.
