Ice Cube’s Most Famous Roles

Boyz N The Hood (1991)

This breakthrough film was Ice Cube’s debut. Having written the song which the movie takes its name, it was interesting to see Ice Cube bring “Doughboy” Baker’s character to life. The film centres on a group of young men growing up in South Central Los Angeles. We witness the adversities they face growing up in a gang filled environment, which has some tragic results. “Doughboy” is a drug dealer who spends most of his time in a juvenile facility. For a debuting role, Ice Cube does a great job, perfectly shedding light on the issues faced in the film.
