NOISEY Prems Shane Meadows’ New Film

Noisey today exclusively premieres a new documentary from critically acclaimed British director Shane Meadows, The Living Room.Telling the story of Gavin Clark, Meadows’ long-time friend and collaborator, the film tracks a friendship that has produced the soundtracks for some of Meadows’ most-loved films including This Is England (2006) and Dead Man’s Shoes (2004), shining a light on a musician in need of a lucky break.

Despite the fact Clark’s music had appeared on several ground-breaking, cult British films, he found himself living in Stoke, delivering pizza. Something about his situation – the fact the other delivery boys were about twelve and Gavin was about thirty-eight – struck Meadows as unjust, so he embarked on filming The Living Room to get Clark and his music some equipment and exposure, challenging him to play a show in his living room to friends and family, without a band behind him.
