The film follows two eccentric scientists, Aubrey de Grey and Bill Andrews, who are fighting to gain support for the discovery of medical breakthroughs to extend human longevity and create eternal youth. As they battle their own ageing and suffer the loss of loved ones, their scientific quest ultimately becomes personal.

The Immortalists has been making big waves internationally following its premiere at SXSW, where it was hailed as top ten most anticipated film at the festival by Indiewire. It has since screened at Hot Docs, London BFI Film Festival, and next up is CPH:DOX.

What would the world look like if humans never grew old? Two eccentric biologists are determined to find out. In this larger-than-life doc, Bill Andrews and Aubrey de Grey leave behind the journals and peer reviews of the scientific establishment to embark on a quest for the age-old secret of eternal youth. Can it be done? And is it desirable? They differ in their approach, but are united in their goal: to learn to live forever, or die trying.
