A fugitive heads for Canada and joins a gang, this may not be his best decision as they have plans to kidnap a girl before she testifies against a crimelord this is until she… accidentally dies. What now, carry on with the plan regardless?
On the run and being followed Tony flees across the boarder into Canada and takes refuge in a near building. He may not be safe yet as he witnesses a shooting. Trying to help the injured man Renner who keeps telling him Toboggan is dead, committed suicide. Renner then tells Tony to look in his wallet, open an envelope containing cash and take it, Tony does only to run into two armed men who handcuff him and escort him out of the building and plan to take him to see Charley. While trying to escape from an open topped car Tony seises the chance to push Paul from the fast moving car but is unable to escape and the men take him to see Charley and question him on the whereabouts of the money, knowing that once they have the information they will kill him Tony decides to keep quiet.
Pepper who is Paul’s sister screams her brother is now dead, could Tony have got himself in deeper than he thought, how is he going to get out of this? Charley and the others head into Montreal on a trip and Sugar is left to watch Tony, this leads to her seducing him and making plans for the pair to run away together this doesn’t last long as Charley soon returns resulting in Tony giving up the location of the money, impressed with Tony they think he might be a good candidate for the gang and ask him to join them on the next job kidnapping Toboggan from the police, before she testifies, even when they find out she is already dead they plan to use Pepper as a replacement and continue to collect the money.
“I’ll replace Toboggan with another girl and pull off the stunt anyway”
Spotted at the opera before they go ahead with the plan, the gang quickly head to the basement where Renner had left the car before he was killed, they ram the car through several walls to get closer to the police headquarters where Toboggan was last held and her belonging remain as they need the clothes to pull off the switch successfully. A shoot out begins in the room and a member of the gang is captured.
McCarthy unaware Toboggan is dead meets Charley and Pepper who is now dressed in Toboggans clothes with a bag over her head to disguise her. The money is exchanged and a shoot out begins between the two gangs ending in a blood bath. Tony escapes with Pepper and a wounded Charley knowing he hasn’t much time he tells them to leave with the money and he will distract the police they may not be able to escape as the road is blocked, Tony goes ahead to find an alternative route to unaware he is being followed, stabbed he must put on a brave face for Pepper telling her to go on ahead and he will meet her, knowing this is not true he heads to the hideout where he and Charley lay dying as the cops descend shooting through the house at the pair as they…hope to die.
