Review by WallPaint.

Well I went to see this on a whim. Nothing about the trailer excited or interested me. But I was bored and wanted to spend a evening out, so I thought I would give it a go. Also it was the only film on at the time I wanted to go!

The story is about a middle aged man in a marital crisis. Hes finding his feet in a strange world of being single whilst maintaining a relationship with his children. Which is something he isn’t doing very well… that is until he meets a much younger man about town!

The cast consists of actors I both love and well, really don’t. Julianne Moore is just stunning and believable. Emma Stone who was the lead in “Easy A” (which is another film I really enjoyed) was beautiful. As for the men; I don’t really warm to Steve Carell. However he was just the right amount of funny. In parts I found myself laughing out lond at his dry wit. Then there is Ryan Gosling, who for one scene has gone up in my estimations!

Overall I really enjoyed this film. It isn’t the classic chick flick. It’s modern, funny and warm with a real sense of family to it.

If you want something with a bit of everything in it then please go and see this film. The whim paid off for me.
