What’s Inside The Box?

What’s Inside?

Would you kill for a million dollars? Are you willing to face the true nature of your humanity? Or, better yet, are you willing to face Cameron Diaz and James Marsden in the cross hairs of such a dilemma?

It’s always nice to see two extremely attractive individuals suffering like the lesser folk. Especially when they are in love, happily married with a lovely home life. The film is rumored to be based on an old Twilight Zone episode, and it certainly carries the eerie, abstract feel but in a 1970’s kind of way. Film grain and wardrobe do contribute to a retro vibe, but the somewhat choppy plot development play into an all modern feel. Not to worry, there are enough twists and turns to engage you, especially from the comfort of your home, where you can emotionally eat your way through the agonising choices of a gorgeous couple.

Impassive and mysterious, this film was worth the watch, despite it’s myriad of film flaws and superficial character development. Not to worry, once you open it, The Box proves worthwhile, just like the ol’ Christmas present ruse, when your parents gave you an enormously wrapped present that contained a smaller one inside. That’s what The Box is like, opening up something large to get to an itty bitty reward….
