Squid Game: Season 2 - Trailer Talk

Squid Game: Season 2 – Trailer Talk.

2021 saw the release of one of Netflix’s biggest shows: ‘Squid Game’. It was an amazing, and gruesome, series and was extremely successful, even spawning a spin-off reality show. Thus, the games will continue later this year.

‘Squid Game’ is a South Korean show that follows a group of people who take part in a deadly set of child-like games in order to win a huge cash prize.

Considering its monumental success, it’s surprising that Season 2 took three years to be announced, but it’s one I’m looking forward to. The teaser is simple but very effective as what looks like a regular track race quickly merges, and changes, into something deadly. Considering the ending of the first season, the show could go into a few directions, so I’m intrigued to know where it will go, and what playground/child-like games will be played. Will it continue to follow Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae – The Acolyte) as he tries to stop the games, or will it go into the backstory of The Front Man?

Or the show could choose to go with both storylines because, at the end of the trailer, season 3 was also announced, serving as the final season. This was a big surprise, and I do appreciate that the 3rd season will be the final one as it won’t feel like it’s overstaying its welcome.

Furthermore, fans won’t have to wait too long to find out what the new season will do, as it releases on 26th December this year!

Megan’s taste in films are interesting: her favourite films are ‘Space Jam’, Studio Ghibli’s ‘The Cat Returns’, as well as horror films ‘Saw’, ‘Drag Me To Hell’ and ‘Ju-On: The Grudge’. When she’s not watching films, she’ll be spending precious hours playing ‘Crash Bandicoot’.
