Hocus Pocus 2: Trailer Talk

Hocus Pocus 2: Trailer Talk

2 years ago, when my weekly articles focused on various Disney+ films/shows, I chose to review ‘Hocus Pocus’ for Halloween that year. While I had only seen it once as a child, I saw it as a perfect film for the October holiday and still do. Interestingly, the sequel had also been announced around that time, something I looked forward after watching the original as an adult. And the teaser trailer was revealed last Tuesday.

‘Hocus Pocus 2’ sees the Sanderson Sisters return to Salem, after the Black Flame Candle is accidently lit. Now it’s up to three high school students to stop them from wreaking havoc before dawn on All Hallows Eve.

The sequel will see Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy return as the mischievous sisters, and Doug Jones as the undead Billy Butcherson. Not only that but the producers of the original are returning for the sequel! The three leads look fantastic; despite the 30-year gap between films, it’s as if the gap never existed at all. The tone of the trailer also indicates that the film will carry a fun, goofy tone just like its predecessor.

After seeing and loving the original film, I am very excited for ‘Hocus Pocus 2’. The teaser serves as a re-introduction to the Sanderson Sisters and the original actresses look fantastic. The tone of the teaser also implies that the film will carry the same atmosphere as its predecessor. Overall, I can not wait to see the return of the mischievous witches!

‘Hocus Pocus 2’ will be flying to Disney+ on 30th September 2022.

Megan’s taste in films are interesting: her favourite films are ‘Space Jam’, Studio Ghibli’s ‘The Cat Returns’, as well as horror films ‘Saw’, ‘Drag Me To Hell’ and ‘Ju-On: The Grudge’. When she’s not watching films, she’ll be spending precious hours playing ‘Crash Bandicoot’.
