The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard Blasts Into Number 1 Debut

Action-packed comedy sequel The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard flies straight in at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart, leading on physical sales and with strong digital download figures.

The “world’s most lethal odd couple” return for a second mission in this follow-up to 2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard. In the film, Bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) is forced back into action by hitman Darius Kincaid’s (Samuel L. Jackson) wife Sonia (Salma Hayek). The trio soon find themselves wrapped up in a global plot and discover they’re all that stand between Europe and a powerful madman…

Further down the Top 10, a boxset of The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard lands at Number 9.

Meanwhile, horror The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It holds tight at Number 2, while fantasy adventure Monster Hunterstarring Milla Jovivich, Tony Jaa and Ron Perlman debuts at Number 3, and is the week’s biggest digital download.

This movement at the top means former three-week Number 1 A Quiet Place Part II drops to Number 4.

Nobody (5) and Peter Rabbit 2 (6) both fall one place, Cruella (7) holds on and The Father (8) drops five places. Finally, Zack Snyder’s Justice League climbs three to return to the Top 10 at Number 10.

This week’s Official Film Chart online show features a trailer for 1963 psychological drama The Servant, which has been restored in 4K and re-released in cinemas last week. The film will be available on disc and digital from 20 September.

Now, as well as OfficialCharts.com, the Official Film Chart can also be found on FindAnyFilm.com – the ultimate site for Film and TV fans to discover all the legal ways to buy the entertainment they want on disc and digital formats.
