Underwater: Trailer Talk

Underwater: Trailer Talk. William Eubank is a director/writer that I love. He wrote and directed the 2011 Angels & Airwaves movie ‘LOVE’ as well as the 2013 Sci-Fi film ‘The Signal’ so I’ve always looked forward to his next project. And, 7 years later, it’s here!

‘Underwater’ is a Sci-Fi film starring Kristen Stewart and T.J.Miller. After an earthquake hits their subterranean laboratory, the crew on board must get to safety. However, it’s not just the waters that they should be afraid of.

While the trailer is edited a little strangely, and uses too many slow-motion shots, this looks like ‘Alien’ in the Ocean! The sense of isolation and claustrophobia grabs you from the second the trailer starts and doesn’t let go. Hopefully, this feeling carries into the actual film too.

I’m also hoping Kristen Stewart is good in this; she was fantastic in the 2017 horror film ‘Personal Shopper’, so I’m looking forward to seeing her return to the big screen.

Overall, ‘Underwater’ looks tense, isolating and claustrophobic and I hope it keeps those feelings throughout the film.

‘Underwater’ will be in cinemas 7th February 2020.

Megan’s taste in films are interesting: her favourite films are ‘Space Jam’, Studio Ghibli’s ‘The Cat Returns’, as well as horror films ‘Saw’, ‘Drag Me To Hell’ and ‘Ju-On: The Grudge’. When she’s not watching films, she’ll be spending precious hours playing ‘Crash Bandicoot’.
