It’s an eerie start to the decade on the Official Film Chart, as IT: Chapter Two lands a Number 1 debut on the first chart of 2020. The spooky sequel to the 2017 Stephen King adaptation, starring Bill Skarsgard as the eponymous – and murderous – clown, floats straight to the top of the chart on digital downloads alone.
US action-thriller Angel Has Fallen lifts three places on its previous position to Number 2, as 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi enters the Top 10 for the first time at Number 3, thanks to its sequel The Rise Of Skywalker entering cinemas over the festive period.
The final Film Chart Number 1 of 2019, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood drops three to Number 4, just ahead of The Lion King at 5.
Rocketman continues its stint in the Top 10 at Number 6, fresh from Taron Egerton’s Golden Globes win for his portrayal of Elton John in the flick. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw takes Number 7 on this week’s chart, Spider-Man: Far From Home is at 8 and Disney’s live-action Aladdin drops to Number 9.
Finally, Toy Story 4 enjoys its tenth week in the chart, rounding off the top tier at Number 10.
This week’s Official Film Chart features a sneak peek at sci-fi odyssey Ad Astra starring Brad Pitt, which is available to Download & Keep from January 11.
