This wet Sunday CROWN AND ANCHOR follows James Downey (Michael Rowe), who is living a disciplined and straight edge lifestyle as a result of growing up with an abusive alcoholic father. His estranged cousin Danny (Matt Wells) is drowning his own trauma with drugs and booze. When their lives are forced to intersect once more, they each begin to unravel as the past returns with violent and tragic consequences. Featuring a blistering punk/hardcore soundtrack, CROWN AND ANCHOR stars Michael Rowe (‘Deadshot’ on TV’s Arrow), Matt Wells (“Designated Survivor”), Natalie Brown (“Saw V”), Robert Joy (“CSI : NY”), Stephen McHattie (“Orphan Black”) and Ben Cotton (“The X-Files”).

An award-winning new film about a haunted road in New Jersey has been picked up for distribution by Midnight Releasing, who are targeting a summer theatrical bow. Clinton Road, directed by Steve Stanulis and Richard Grieco, stars internationally acclaimed musician and actor Ice-T (New Jack City, “Law & Order : SVU”), James DeBello (Cabin Fever, Detroit Rock City), Vincent Pastore (“The Sopranos”, Goodfellas), and Erin O’Brien (Pernicious, Killing Joan).

From the director of THE REDWOOD MASSACRE and GHOSTS OF DARKNESS comes THE DARK WITHIN, a spine-chilling new horror experience from award-winning director David Ryan Keith. Releasing July 9 on VOD and DVD from Uncork’d Entertainment, THE DARK WITHIN concerns a disturbed man with unknown psychic abilities who tries to unravel the mystery of his parent’s disappearance while battling his own demons. Paul Flannery (Ghosts of Darkness), Kendra Carelli (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, “Maid to Order”), and Stephanie Lynn Styles (Check Point) star in a Clear Focus Movies Ltd production.



This wet Sunday Verve Pictures has confirmed 19 July 2019 as the UK cinema release date for MAKING NOISE QUIETLY. Renowned theatre director Dominic Dromgoole here makes his feature film debut, which is adapted from Robert Holman’s acclaimed play of the same name by Robert Holman, Nick Drake and Mark Rosenblatt. The film stars Deborah Findlay (HampsteadThe Lady in the Van), Barbara Marten (The Village and People, Places and Things), Trystan Gravelle (Beast, TV’s Baptiste), Geoffrey Streatfeild (TV’s The Thick of It), newcomer Luke Thompson and from the original stage play Matthew Tennyson.

This stylish, faced-paced, fun and frantic crime caper is a vibrant blend of tension, humour and history. Based on the absurd but true story of a 1973 bank heist and hostage crisis, The Captor, described as ‘a suspenseful, riotous black comedy’, is an extraordinary account of what happens when hostages bond with their captors and turn against the authorities – a phenomenon now identified as the Stockholm syndrome.

The third and final instalment of the unstoppable franchise, Escape Plan 3 sees screen legend Sylvester Stallone (The Expendables) kick this explosive action tale into high gear. After security expert Ray Breslin (Stallone) is hired to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a Hong Kong tech mogul from a formidable Latvian prison, Breslin’s girlfriend (Jaime King, Sin City) is also captured. Now he and his team, including Trent DeRosa (Dave Bautista, Guardians of the Galaxy) and (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Power) must pull off a deadly rescue mission to confront their sadistic foe and save the hostages before time runs out. Also featuring Max Zhang (Pacific Rim: Uprising). 

Led by rising stars Sebastian Croft (GAME OF THRONES) as Roman teenager Atti and Emilia Jones (PATRICK) as his Celtic rival Orla, HORRIBLE HISTORIES: THE MOVIE – ROTTEN ROMANS features an all-star cast including Nick Frost (FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY) as Orla’s father Arghus, Craig Roberts (SUBMARINE) as Emperor Nero and Kim Cattrall (SEX AND THE CITY) as Nero’s mother Agrippina.  Additional cast include BRIT Award-winning artist Kate Nash (GLOW) as Boudicca, Rupert Graves (SHERLOCK) as Governor General Paulinus, Alex Macqueen (THE INBETWEENERS) as Nero’s assistant Sycophantus and Sir Derek Jacobi reprises his iconic role as Claudius.

This wet Sunday A new clip, featuring never-before-seen archive footage of Diego Maradona training with his personal trainer Fernando Signorini, has been released from Asif Kapadia’s critically acclaimed DIEGO MARADONA. The film, which received its UK Premiere at Sheffield Doc Fest last night, is released nationwide in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on Friday 14 June through Altitude Film Entertainment. The multi BAFTA and Academy Award®-winning team behind SENNA (2010) and AMY (2015) complete their hat-trick with the highly anticipated release of DIEGO MARADONA. Featuring exclusive interviews with Diego Maradona and constructed from over 500 hours of never-before-seen footage from his personal archive, this is the story behind the greatest football player of all time.

Harlem-based family drama film ‘Strive’, a new feature film by director Robert Rippberger (7 Days in Syria), starring award-winning actor Danny Glover and Grammy-nominated Joi Starr has just released its official trailer. The film was written by Harlem-native Sha-Risse Smith along with Piper Dellums with music for the film composed by Warryn Campbell, the multi-Grammy-winning veteran Gospel and R&B producer.
