Love Actually Wins Christmas

Love Actually

As Christmas approaches, Official Charts is unveiling the best-selling festive feature film of all time on disc (DVD and Blu-ray) and the crown goes to Love, Actually, which has sold more than 3.5 million copies since its release in 2004.  The Richard Curtis classic is a star-studded affair following the lives of eight different couples in a frantic month before Christmas including Hugh Grant as the UK’s Prime Minister.

The top animated Christmas film, The Polar Express, sits at Number 2 and is followed by two films that are still selling well today; The Grinch (currently at Number 8 in this week’s Official Film Chart) and Elf.  The oldest film on the Top 10 list, landing at 7, is 1946’s It’s a Wonderful Life starring James Stewart, and is also the only title in the list in black and white.

Rounding off the top 10 is the 1994 remake of Miracle on 34th Street (8), Santa Claus: The Movie (9) and Macaulay Culkin gets left Home Alone at 10.
