Wadjda (2012)

This was the first feature film to be shot entirely in Saudi Arabia and the first feature film to be directed by a female. Wadjda follows a young girl whose dreams of owning the green bike she passes on the way to school every day. Haifaa al-Mansours film was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 2014 BAFTA Awards.
