The 14th of February is definitely a special day for the couples. While there are quite a few awesome scenarios to celebrate this great occasion, starting from getting an awesome Valentine’s day gifts from here and going to as far as booking a great hotel with a SPA package, sometimes you just may not have a budget. Well, this does not mean you should not celebrate…no matter how tight your budget is, it is always possible to pick up a great movie and spend an amazing Valentine’s day evening with some Ben and Jerry’s and your loved one. Let’s take a look at the most romantic movies to watch on 14th of February.

Titanic (1997)

This movie is based on a true story of a sinking ship, but there is also quite a nice love story behind it. With the leading roles played by Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslett the movie is expected to be a very high quality one. Even though it is actually quite a drama, the love story is portrayed quite well. Next to this, a great advantage of this movie is its length, it takes over three hours, hence you can be sure that you will get lots of time to hug.

True Romance (1993)

Well, not every couple prefers just regular romantic movies like The Notebook. For those of you who prefer guns, curses and even more guns – there is a special dish from Quentin Tarantino’s oven. It is quite hard to imagine that Tarantino could make a romantic movie, well, this is certainly his most romantic piece with an incredible love story. In addition to this, there are lots of Tarantino’s regular ingredients: guns, hookers, drugs and, best of all, his humour.

Shrek (2001)

If you prefer animated movies (aka cartoons) – Shrek can be a great choice. It shows a love story of a beautiful princes and an ogre. It is actually a great story that shows us that love knows no boundaries. In addition to this, the movie comes with incredible voice actors and quite some healthy share of humour.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

This is another uncommon choice for a St Valentine’s Day movie. Why would you want to watch a super-hero movie instead of going for a regular love story? Well, the reason is simple, the love story is better than in most of the romantic movies…and next to this you actually get to see some super-powers followed with super-jokes.

Well, we hope that you will find at least one of those movies decent enough to watch with your loved one on this special occasion. Nevertheless, you should not be restrained to actually watch romantic movies that have lots of sugar in their plot, don’t hesitate to just watch your favourite movie or the one that means something special for you as a couple.
