Our very own Daryl has a new venture.

Today will see the launch of Sudden Double Deep: The Triple Bill Title Podcast. The aim is is to discuss three films linked by a word in the title, from separate genres, throwing in some trivia along the way too. Future shows will try to find tangible links between the movies featured and past podcast episodes.

The Triple Bill Title word for episode 001 is IMPACT and Daryl and the guys will be watching the fourth installment of the Dirty Harry franchise Sudden Impact (1983), the Jean Claude Van Damme action vehicle Double Impact (1991) and Armageddon’s lesser appreciated, non-identical twin from 1998, Deep Impact.

Sudden Impact (1983) – A rape victim is exacting revenge on her aggressors in a small town outside San Francisco. “Dirty” Harry Callahan, on suspension for angering his superiors (again), is assigned to the case.

Double Impact (1991) – Twin brothers are separated when their parents are murdered but 25 years later they re-unite in order to avenge their parents’ death.

Deep Impact (1998) – Unless a comet can be destroyed before colliding with Earth, only those allowed into shelters will survive. Which people will survive?

Sudden Double Deep: The Triple Bill Title Podcast will be a fortnightly show and will be available via iTunes and Libsyn with more platforms to follow shortly.

Rate and review the show on iTunes, and contact Daryl and Ben via Twitter or Facebook to suggest future triple bills.
