Verdi Productions announces principal photography of its latest featured film, Bleed for This.

BLEED FOR THIS tells the true-life story of 5-time world champion Rhode Island boxer Vinny Paz as he recovers from a near fatal car accident that left him with a broken neck. He then goes on to win three additional world boxing titles, creating one of the most incredible and dramatic comebacks in sports history.

The Bleed For This team includes Oscar winning director Martin Scorsese (The Departed, Wolf of Wall Street, Silence) as Executive Producer, Writer/Director Ben Younger (Boiler Room, Prime), Oscar winning Producer Bruce Cohen (American Beauty, Silver Linings Playbook), Oscar nominee Emma Tillinger Koskoff (The Departed, Wolf Of Wall Street, Silence). RI Producers Chad & Michelle Verdi (Loosies, The 50 Year Argument, Silence), Pamela Thur (Spider-Man 2, Die Hard: With A Vengeance), Noah Kraft (Loosies), and Executive Producer Joshua Sason, (The 50 Year Argument, A Bet’s A Bet).



The cast includes Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now, That Awkward Moment, Project X), currently starring in Whiplash, in theaters now, will take on the role of Vinny Paz. Golden Globe nominated actor Aaron Eckhart, (The Dark Knight, Olympus Has Fallen, I, Frankenstein) will take on the role of Paz’s boxing trainer, Kevin Rooney. Ciaran Hinds, (Game of Thrones, Munich,) will take on the role of Vinny’s father, Angelo and Golden Globe winner Katey Sagal (Married with Children, Sons of Anarchy) as Vinny’s mother, Louise.

Producer Chad A. Verdi stated, “I have many people to thank for helping my wife Michelle and I get this project off the ground: Ben Younger, for writing such an incredible script; My producing partners Martin Scorsese and Emma Tillinger Koskoff for believing in us and this project; Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, for introducing us to Marty and Emma and willing to make calls on our behalf to bring this project to RI; Congressman James Langevin, for helping secure the much needed locations; Jimmy Burchfield, for helping to secure the location of Twin River Casino and overseeing the setups of all the boxing fights taking place; Stephen Feinberg, for doing everything possibly needed to make sure this project stayed in RI; Twin River Casino for being the most gracious host you could ever ask for; The Dunkin’ Donuts Center, for opening their doors and letting us replicate two of the three boxing matches in the film; The entire Bleed For This team that includes two very hard working producers Bruce Cohen and Pamela Thur, who we could never do this project without; Noah Kraft, for giving up three years of his life to help put this all together; Joshua Sason, for opening up his wallet and letting me spend the millions and millions of dollars needed to make this film; The entire cast and crew and most of all, Vinny Paz for letting us tell his story.”
