I Had An Optoma HD50 Projector For A Week

I was sent Optoma’s HD50 projector to play around with for a week or so.  And I must say – I was very impressed with it.

Really easy to set up, straight out of the box.  The two HDMI ports give me the chance to plug in both my Bluray player and my Mac.  It was so easy following the setup guide included. Before you know it I was watching The Dark Knight and then playing Championship Manager on my wall, the image was perfect!  Deep black and bright sharp images.

There isn’t an audio out from the projector, which is a bit of a downer.  They are ways around that though.

Here’s some bumpf – £999. 1080p HD.  2,200 ANSI Lumen brightness (whatever that means), 50,000:1 contrast ratio (all good).

The 3D glasses worked a treat – Amazing Spider-Man 2 looked great, although less bright than a 2D film.

The projector is very quiet too.  Great for playing games!

Check it out!

Thanks to Optoma for the use of the projector and to Penny for sorting it all out.
