‘Shongram’ is a 118 minute romantic drama set during the 1971 Bangladesh liberation war where a British Bangladeshi Muslim male and Hindu girl find love but are separated by this much unknown war. He is forced to join an underground band of freedom fighters after the genocide and abduction of innocent Bangladeshi’s and the love of his life. For the first time a British film has been produced, written and directed by a British Bangladeshi filmmaker looking at a forgotten era.

Starring Hollywood actress Asia Argento (XXX and Marie Antoinette) and Anupam Kher (Silver Linings Playbook).



The Producer, Writer and Director is British Bangladeshi Munsur Ali.  He is the CEO and founder of the Limelight Film Awards.
