BVA Reveals Over 18.5 Million DVDs To Be Given As Gifts This Christmas

To mark 15 years of DVD gift giving this Christmas, a new consumer survey[1] carried out on behalf of the British Video Association reveals over a third of UK adults (37%) are buying Blu-ray Discs and DVDs as gifts which indicates an estimated 18.5 million people will be wrapping them this Christmas.

When asked who they intend to buy Blu-ray Discs and DVDs for, most shoppers said they intend to give them to a child (43%), followed by partner (38%), parent (18%), sibling (13%), and friend (12%).

The survey also asked shoppers to rate their ‘Most Wanted’ entertainment titles this festive season.

  4. Monsters University
  5. Les Misérables

  2. Les Misérables

  6. Breaking Bad – The Final Season
  7. The Great Gatsby
  8. Downton Abbey – Series 4
  9. Elf
  10. Mrs Brown’s Boys Live Tour: Mrs Brown Rides Again


Men’s ‘Most Wanted’ DVDs this Christmas:

  1. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
  2. Breaking Bad – The Final Season
  3. Star Trek Into Darkness
  4. Despicable Me 2
  5. Man of Steel
  6. Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa
  7. The Wolverine
  8. Doctor Who – The Day of the Doctor
  9. Elf
  10. Iron Man 3
