Greedy Lying Bastards

A fascinating and shocking expose in to one of the world’s most prominent and global issues, Greedy Lying Bastards is a damning investigation into the influence, deceit and corruption defining the fossil fuel industry.

As the evidence of our changing climate mounts and the scientific consensus proves a human causation, there continues to be no political action to thwart the warming of our planet. Combining in-depth interviews with archival footage, Greedy Lying Bastards investigates the reason behind stalled efforts to tackle climate change despite consensus in the scientific community that it is not only a very serious reality but also a growing problem that is placing us on the brink of disaster.

The critically acclaimed documentary details the people and organizations casting doubt on climate science and claims that greenhouse gases are not affected by human behaviour. From the Koch Brothers to ExxonMobil, to prominent Senators and Justices, this provocative exposé unravels the layers of deception threatening U.S. democracy, laying bare the deliberate pattern of irresponsibility whilst showing how those who speak out against the industry’s reckless practices risk their livelihoods, and in some instances, their lives.

Filmmaker and political activist Craig Scott Rosebraugh, in association with Executive Producer Daryl Hannah, documents the impact of an industry that has continually put profits before people, waged a campaign of lies designed to thwart measures to combat climate change, used its clout to minimize infringing regulations and undermined the political process in the U.S.
and abroad.

Greedy Lying Bastards will be released in UK cinemas and iTunes on 27th September and on DVD on 7th October
