Check out the first installment in a new 6-part comedy web-series Star Wars: Course of the Force, starring R2-D2 and Nerdist’s Chris Hardwick, in anticipation of July’s Course of the Force lightsaber relay run for charity down the CA coast.

A new webisode will premiere every Tuesday, through July 2nd – leading up to the Course of the Force.

Here’s the first one…

Written by “Saturday Night Live” writers, Episode 1 sets the stage for this year’s Saga as the official Course of the Force lightsaber goes missing from Nerdist headquarters. Hilarity ensues – from R2–D2 quoting Office Space and dancing like Justin Timberlake to Chris Hardwick dressing as Princess Leia.

Course of the Force is an annual Olympic-torch-style relay run with Star Wars lightsabers down the California coastline to San Diego Comic Con, benefitting Make-A-Wish Foundation, from July 9-16, 2013. The race begins at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch and makes its way through San Francisco, then on to LA and all the day down to San Diego. There are also massive “Conival” celebrations along the way, featuring live music and entertainment, expo booths and more – all open to the public. Last year over $100,000 was raised for Make-A-Wish and thousands participated in the fun.

All Course of the Force video content will be distributed via Starwars.com, and hosted on the Nerdist YouTube channel.
