Today’s mobile phones can be used for just about anything. One activity in which many people partake on their mobile devices is watching movies. This convenient function makes it possible to be entertained anywhere when you are on the go. Also, with mobile phones being made with larger screens, movie watching is easier than ever.

In order to watch a movie on a mobile device, apps are used to support this function. One app that can be used is the Flixster app. Developed by Time Warner; this app is free for download on both Apple and Android devices. With this app, you can watch movies you already own on your smartphone. The app is able to access UltraViolet, which is the ability to let people who already own certain DVDs and Blu-Ray discs to watch them on mobile devices. The device simply accesses the copy stored within the cloud. Not only can this app permit users to watch movies on their phones, it also provides information about current and upcoming movies as well as specific information about theatre offerings.

Crackle is another app that can be utilized by both Android and Apple phones. This app is also free to download. By installing the app on your phone you are able to watch full length movies and even television series on your mobile phone. The app has new movies and TV shows added each month which provides for variety. Some genres of films that can be viewed with Crackle include action, comedy, horror, sci-fi, drama and more. The exact content list can be accessed directly from the app. The Crackle app can stream video with a 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi connection.

Of course, for all the film lovers out there, it is essential to have a good working smartphone (ideally with a good sized screen). You needn’t have to pay too much either as you can definitely find some good monthly deals on smartphones at places like Phones 4 U.
