Jack Falls At LIFF (And Wins!)

Jack Falls At LIFF (And Wins!)

Following on from the success of Jack Falls since its release just over three weeks ago, it is now in official selection for Best Film at the London Independent Film Festival. Jack Falls, the independent film noir thriller starring Tamer Hassan, Simon Phillips, Olivia Hallinan, Dexter Fletcher, Jason Flemyng, Alan Ford, Adam Deacon, Doug Bradley, Zach Galligan and Martin Kemp, is screening on Monday 18th April at The Roxy Cinema.

The feature will be followed by a screening of the prequel animated short Jack Falls: Sid’s Story and a Q&A with the Directors and Producers about the film.
The director and writer Paul Tanter says: “We are extremely proud to be in contention at this years LIFF. Independent film making in the UK is a huge challenge, and the quality of films this year is a testament to the strength of the industry and skills of those working in it. To have our feature, Jack Falls, and our animated short, Jack Falls: Sid’s Story, both in competition in their respective catagories, is very exciting, and we look forward to seeing them and all the other entries up on the big screen.”

EDIT – WINNER!

Jack Falls At LIFF (And Wins!)

Jack Falls was awarded the Best Action Film award at the 2011 London Independent Film Festival. With its Bourne-esque fight scenes and thrilling set pieces, the film noir easily saw off competition to scoop the prize. Writer/Director Paul Tanter attended the festival to accept the award and said “I’m thrilled to accept this award from the LIFF. The competition within independent film has never been better, and we are honoured to have not only been inlcuded amongst those selected, but to have won the award too.”

This is a great accolade for the film, which topped most sales charts in its week of release and reached 16 on the IMDb moviemeter – a great achievement for a low-budget independent film. Visit www.jackfalls.co.uk for more details of the film and the trilogy that it completes.
