Marty McFly’s Hoverboard, a biker scout helmet from Return of The Jedi and an underwater tow sledge from James Bond Thunderball are amongst hundreds of items auctioned off in the most exciting sale of its kind in London.

Twenty five years after Marty McFly flew his hoverboard over Hill Valley Lake in Back to the Future: Part II the iconic prop sold for £26,700 – almost doubling its original estimate of £15,000 while the biker scout helmet went for £20,400 and the Spectre underwater tow sled from Thunderball sold for £24,000.

The auction, held at the Vue cinema in Westfield London with a free two week exhibition of the items beforehand, saw almost £1m worth of memorabilia sold to film fans, collectors and investors world-wide.



The most expensive item to go under the hammer was Sigourney Weaver’s Flamethrower fromAlien which sold for £30,000 but with a catalogue to suit all budgets, the least expensive item sold was a ‘one sheet’ poster from Aliens which went for a mere £48.

Other notable items sold at the auction and their final sale prices included:
