G.B.F – UK Trailer Release Exclusive

Yesterday saw the UK trailer for Peccadillo Pictures G.B.F unveiled, exclusively, on Digital Spy. Directed by cult filmmaker Darren Stein, G.B.F. stars Megan Mullally (Will & Grace), Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is The New Black), Andrea Bowen (Desperate Housewives), Evanna Lynch (Harry Potter), Michael J. Willett (The United States of Tara) and the singer, JoJo.

    It’s below…

Meet Tanner and Brent. They are two gay best friends.  Brent longs for the spotlight and believes that coming out will make him instantly popular as this year’s must-have teen girl accessory; North Gateway High’s very first G.B.F. (or Gay Best Friend). Tanner on the other hand, would rather fly under the radar and finish high school without ever being noticed.

When things don’t go according to plan and Tanner is outed instead of Brent, the two boys go from B.F.Fs to instant frenemies. Enter the three most popular girls in school — queen-of-mean bombshell Fawcett, drama club diva Caprice, and sweet, Mormon good-girl ‘Shley, who launch an all-out social war to win Tanner’s status-enhancing friendship.

G.B.F is out from Peccadillo Pictures in cinemas and on demand on the 21st March and on DVD and Blu-ray on 7th April. You can order from Amazon or Play.

  • Miklós Jancsó 1921 – 2014

    Miklós Jancsó 1921 – 2014

It is with grave sadness and heavy heart that we announce the passing of the great Hungarian film director Miklós Jancsó, who has died at the age of 93.

“A kind, gentle, brilliant and brave soul, very many of us are richer for there

having been a Miklós Jancsó. It has been a privilege to know him. The end of an era” – Mehelli Modi, Founder of Second Run DVD

Hungarian cinema’s most renowned filmmaker and a profound influence on filmmakers from Sergio Leone to Béla Tarr, Jancsó was one of cinema’s greatest visionaries, a giant of world cinema. The films made by Miklós Jancsó such as My Way Home (Így jöttem, 1964), The Round-Up (Szegénylegények, 1965), The Red and the White (Csillagosok, katonák, 1967), Silence and Cry (Csend és kiáltás, 1968) The Confrontation (Fényes szelek, 1968) and Red Psalm (Még kér a nép, 1971) – for which was awarded the Best Director prize in Cannes 1972 – were at the forefront of the revival of Hungarian cinema, while the starkness of his themes and a distinctive visual style made Jancsó himself one of the most controversial and widely discussed of contemporary directors.
