  • Ariel Winter Will Miss Her Modern Family

Ariel Winter Will Miss Her Modern Family

Ariel Winter says it will be “hard to say goodbye” to ‘Modern Family’.

The 21-year-old actress grew up on the US sitcom, which she has starred as Alex Dunphy in since 2009, when she was just 11, and she has admitted that whilst it will be difficult to bid farewell, she is “excited” to step out of her comfort zone and take on different roles.

Speaking about the hit programme – which also stars Sofia Vergara (Gloria Delgado-Pritchett) and Sarah Hyland (Haley Dunphy) –  coming to an end in 2020, she said: “It’s strange to think that it’s coming to an end. It will be hard to say goodbye.”It will be hard to leave that, but I am excited to do new things. I’m excited to play new roles and to do things that challenge me a little more.”

Ariel admitted that she wants to play people her own age.

She added: “Alex is a great character, but Alex doesn’t change a ton”I was a kid as Alex on the show and now I’m an adult as Alex, so it’s a little different than the roles I want to play. I don’t want to play kid to adult. I want to just play my age now.”

The ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village’ voice actress also opened up about quitting college after six months because she struggled to balance filming the show with her studying.

Ariel Winter added to The Hollywood Reporter: “I loved going (to UCLA); however, I overestimated what I could do at that time … I wasn’t really able to get to the majority of my classes. “It just didn’t make sense at the time.”Ariel – who has 3.9 million followers on Instagram – also admitted she doesn’t care about fame and would rather just get on with her work. She said: “I’m not really a fame person. I like to act. I like to work.”

  • Dwayne Johnson: Idris Elba Would Be A Great Bond

Dwayne Johnson: Idris Elba Would Be A Great Bond

Dwayne Johnson thinks Idris Elba would be a “great” James Bond.

Dwayne is backing his ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ co-star to take over from Daniel Craig in the iconic role and admitted they spent time discussing the speculation during breaks in filming the ‘Fast and the Furious’ spin-off.

Speaking to US TV show ‘Extra’, he said: “I love that idea. We had joked and talked about that on set. I think he would make a great Bond.”

Dwayne isn’t the only star who thinks Idris would make a good Bond as Dame Judi Dench – who played MI6 chief ‘M’ in seven Bond films before her character met her end in 2012’s ‘Skyfall’  – previously insisted that he would be a “brilliant” for the role after working with him on the upcoming big screen adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Cats’.

She said: “Oh I think he would be a brilliant Bond. When we filmed ‘Cats’ he kept saying to me ‘Will you send me to the Heaviside layer?’ [A reference to a song from the musical] And at one point I turned to him and said ‘No: I’ll send you to MI6!’ “

Although Idris is a strong contender, the most recent speculation suggests it could be a female taking on the iconic part, as Lashana Lynch will reportedly be unveiled as the new 007 in the upcoming 25th Bond movie. An insider told the Mail on Sunday newspaper : “There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says, ‘Come in 007’, and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman.”It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Luther’ actor previously admitted he’d jump at the chance to play the suave spy but is worried about a backlash because of the colour of his skin.

He said: “James Bond is a hugely coveted, iconic, beloved character, that takes audiences on this massive escapism journey.”Of course, if someone said to me, ‘Do you want to play James Bond?’ I’d be like, ‘Yeah!’ “That’s fascinating to me. But it’s not something I’ve expressed, like, ‘Yeah, I wanna be the black James Bond’. You just get disheartened when you get people from a generational point of view going, ‘It can’t be’. And it really turns out to be the colour of my skin.”Then if I get it and it didn’t work, or it did work, would it be because of the colour of my skin? That’s a difficult position to put myself into when I don’t need to.”

  • Kim Cattrall Won’t Be In Sex & The City Again

Kim Cattrall Won’t Be In Sex & The City Again

Kim Cattrall will “never” appear in ‘Sex and the City’ again.

The 62-year-old actress – who has previously admitted she had a “toxic” relationship with her co-stars – has quashed speculation she may appear in a third film in the franchise, insisting there is no chance.

Asked if she would do another ‘Sex and the City‘ film, she replied: “Never. It’s a no from me.”

Kim – who played Samantha Jones in the HBO comedy-drama series and two subsequent movies – has learnt a lesson that she wants to work with “good people”.

She told Mail Online: “You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun.”In January, it was reported Kim could return for a third movie in the series.

A source said at the time: “The cheques are still coming in from the films and TV show. Never say never when it comes to making another film.”Kim previously slammed her fellow ‘Sex and the City’ star Sarah Jessica Parker for reaching out to her following the death of her brother Chris Cattrall, who died in February last year.

She wrote on Instagram: “My Mom asked me today ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?’ Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona. (sic)”

But she thanked her ‘Sex and the City’ co-star Cynthia Nixon for being there for her following Chris’ tragic passing. She wrote on Instagram: “Cynthia, hearing your voice meant so much to me. Thank you for reaching out. Love Kim.”
