EMPIRE, is to publish its first ever cover devoted to a television show.
In celebration of its uniquely cinematic roots, HBO’s Game of Thrones will feature on the April issue of Empire, on sale on Thursday 21 February.
The eagerly awaited eighth and final series of Game of Thrones will air on 14 April and is set to be one of the entertainment events of the year.
Commenting on the issue, editor-in-chief, Terri White said: “Game of Thrones is one of the cinematic events of the year and our readers, like the rest of the world, await the final season with huge excitement and anticipation. The landscape has changed hugely since ‘Allo ‘Allo! and Bergerac and there have never been more bold, brilliant stories to be watched on both the big and small screen. It’s what prompted us to launch our new cinematic TV brand, Pilot TV last year and what compelled us to put Game of Throneson the cover of EMPIRE.”
Inside the magazine Game of Thrones has received the full ‘EMPIRE treatment’ with a 21-page special devoted to the full story of HBO’s fantasy show, plus brand new exclusive interviews with cast and crew.
The editorial deep-dives in to the past seven seasons of the show quizzing cast and crew about the greatest moments, biggest shocks, how to pull off a Game of Thrones battle scene, how they make the dragons…plus all the best-kept visual effects secrets.
Also included in the April issue is Pilot TV magazine featuring an edit of the must-see TV shows this Spring.
Elsewhere in this month’s issue readers can look forward to a host of film exclusives including an on-set visit of Shazam, revisiting Schindler’s List, an interview with David Harbour (Hellboy), a revealing first look at Aladdin and a closer look at the latest Avengers: Endgame trailer.
The exclusive issue of EMPIRE will be available on newsstand from 21 February but those that can’t wait can also buy it via Great Magazines from 19 February: https://www.greatmagazines.co.uk/empire-print-single-issues
