Craig Robert’s ETERNAL BEAUTY starring Sally Hawkins is now in production in Wales. The shoot is five weeks and will take place in, and around, Cardiff, Newport and Port Talbot.
Academy Award Nominee and Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water, Paddington 1 & 2, Submarine, Blue Jasmine, Happy-Go-Lucky) stars alongside Alice Lowe (Prevenge, Adult Life Skills, Sightseers), Billie Piper (Yerma, Penny Dreadful and Doctor Who), Penelope Wilton (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Downton Abbey, Shaun of the Dead) and David Thewlis (Fargo, Wonder Woman, The Theory of Everything, Harry Potter). Other cast members include Bob Pugh (Master and Commander), Rob Aramayo (Game of Thrones), Morfydd Clark (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) and Paul Hilton (Lady Macbeth).
ETERNAL BEAUTY is Written and Directed by Craig Roberts and Produced by Adrian Bate of Cliff Edge Pictures. The Executive Producers are Mary Burke (BFI), Adam Partridge (Ffilm Cymru Wales), Pip Broughton (Cliff Edge), Meroë Candy (Wellcome), Paul Higgins (Dragon).The film is financed by; the BFI (awarding funds from the National Lottery), Ffilm Cymru Wales, Welsh Government and Wellcome. The director of photography is Kit Fraser (Under The Shadow).
ETERNAL BEAUTY will be Roberts’ second directorial feature after 2015’s Just Jim, which was nominated for a BAFTA Wales award, and the first for his production company Cliff Edge Pictures. Roberts is also set to star in the forthcoming Tolkien biography, and has numerous acting credits including Kill Your Friends, 22 Jump Street, Submarine and Amazon’s Red Oaks.
When Jane (Sally Hawkins) is dumped at the altar she has a breakdown and spirals into a chaotic world, where love (both real and imagined) and family relationships collide with both touching and humorous consequences.
Bankside Films exclusively represents foreign sales rights for the film, while Endeavour Content and Bankside Films co-represent domestic sales rights.
