Empire has today announced a world first with a limited edition video cover to celebrate the release of the all-new adventure Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, coming to cinemas 18 November from Warner Bros. Pictures.
In an industry first, the December issue of Empire, on sale 27 October, will feature a specially designed, custom cover image drawn from the unique and magical world of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, embedded with two pieces of video.
The first video is an exclusive featurette taking viewers behind the scenes of one of the year’s most anticipated films, where they will hear from stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, and Colin Farrell. Viewers will also hear from the filmmakers behind the magic, including screenwriter and producer J.K. Rowling, producer David Heyman and director David Yates– all of whom reunite following their collaboration on the beloved Harry Potter film series, currently the top-grossing motion picture franchise of all time. The second video will be the latest and final trailer for the film, which will immerse audiences in this enthralling new era of the wizarding world.
This limited edition, first-ever moving image cover will have a special run of 5000 copies only, and will be available exclusively in Sainsbury’s, priced at £9.99. Also coming on 27 October is Empire’s standard December 2016 issue—featuring another bespoke Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them cover—which will be sold widely at newsagent‘s shops across the UK.
Terri White Editor-in Chief Empire, commented: “Here at Empire, we love to innovate and constantly push the envelope creatively. Our friends at Warner Bros. Pictures were the perfect partner for our most ambitious idea yet – making the cover move. Our readers are going to be desperate to get their hands on a copy and see the new world of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them brought to life.“
