Principal photography has been completed on EAT LOCAL, the action-packed and explosive vampire thriller directed by Jason Flemyng (X-Men: First Class, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), following a four-week shoot in Hertfordshire, England.
EAT LOCAL revolves around unwitting Essex boy Sebastian.
Seb’s promise of a night of passion with ravishing cougar Vanessa goes awry when he finds himself caught in the crossfire between a coven of bloodthirsty vampires and a heavily-armed band of mercenaries at a remote farmhouse.
The film marks Flemyng’s first time in the director’s chair as he and the incredible all-star cast realised a fantastic script by Wild Bill scribe and BAFTA-nominee Danny King. Flemyng commented, ‘We finished filming Friday … a feature in 20 days. Our producers gave us one extra day, and I think we are in good nick! Every scene we have done is better than I hoped, so we will just have to see if it all goes together, and that as you know is alchemy. Lost six kilos, gained 40 friends… fair exchange!’
The cast includes Charlie Cox (Netflix’s Daredevil, The Theory of Everything), Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean, Game of Thrones), Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the Eagle), Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who), Eve Myles (Doctor Who, Torchwood), Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey), Annette Crosbie (Into the Woods), Vincent Regan (Lockout, 300), and Tony Curran (24), and introduces Billy Cook as Sebastian.
The film is currently being sold at the European Film Market in Berlin by GFM Films’ recently formed sales arm GFM Evolution.
