COMMETING ON THE PRINCESS BRIDE AND HIS BOOK ‘AS YOU WISH…’

  • “I read the book when I was thirteen so I knew William Goldman work (Author of The Princess Bride). I grew up with ‘Marathon Man’ and ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’ and ‘All the President’s Men’”
  • “ I knew Rob Reiner (Director of Princess Bride) from ‘All in the Family’ and ‘This is Spinal Tap’ which is amazing film – so it was always a fairy tale come true for me to work with these two remarkable people and then this extraordinary cast that I was surrounded by.”
  • “It really had a strange shelf life the film. It didn’t do very well when it came out, it wasn’t until the VHS market took off about 10 years after that that it really found its audience.”
  • “We had fun making it, which is why I wrote the book, we had an incredible fun time doing it. None of us knew if it was going to be successful or not. We hoped it would be.”
  • “I didn’t keep a diary or a journal. I did film some footage because I thought that would be important. But what helped me enormously was looking at the call sheets… as I turned the page to find the very first call sheet it started to trigger my memory of where I was, what I was doing that day, what I was shooting, who I was with – it became a snowball effect after that – I started to remember everything.”

COMMENTING ON THE PRINCESS BRIDE BEING TURNED INTO A MUSICAL

  • “I have heard about the musical. I believe it’s in the works. I don’t know anything other than that. I know some songs have been written and there are plenty of titles to choose from. I have not heard any of the songs yet but almost every line in the film could be made into a song. I am hoping something will come to pass. I know they’re working on it so we’ll keep our fingers crossed.”

COMMENTING ON HIM MAYBE APPEARING IN A RUMOURED EIGHT SAW MOVIE

  • “I have heard rumours too. I don’t know anything so unfortunately I can’t share any details with you because I honestly haven’t been privy to anything of that nature but I hope so. It would be nice. It would really be up to the fans I think.”

COMMENTING ON WANTING TO WORK LONDON

  • “I would love to work here I really would, there some wonderful shows here both in the theatre and in television and film too, the entertainment industry as a whole is back at a peak now, so I would love to come back here and work.”
