‘Beautiful People’ helmer Jasmin Dizdar has just completed shooting his next feature, the World War 2 action drama CHOSEN, starring Harvey Keitel, Ana Ularu and Luke Mably.

Shot in Bucharest, Romania and New York and inspired by true events, the story centres around Sonson, an unassuming young lawyer (Luke Mably) who finds the courage to lead an inspirational fight back against the Nazis in the dying embers of World War II. With the help of Judith (Ana Ularu) he turns a struggle for survival into a heroic mission to save thousands of lives. Harvey Keitel plays Sonson in the present day.

This is Dizdar’s second feature, following ‘Beautiful People’, which won the Un  Certain Regard Best Film Award at the 1999 Cannes Festival.

Producer Mike Riley said today: “We’re very excited to have completed principal photography on this challenging and stylish project. Full of action, drama and romance it sheds light of some of the most extraordinary events of WW2. With a huge cast, many Eastern European locations, large battle sequences and intimate dramatic moments it has been an extremely varied and complex shoot which we’ve been free to approach as we please having needed no sales or distribution partners yet. Chosen will deliver before Cannes next year”.
