SIX OF THE BEST: Anna Fischer

film reviews | movies | features | BRWC SIX OF THE BEST: Anna Fischer

Welcome to another edition of SIX OF THE BEST, the semi regular part of BRWC where we fire six questions at lovely people.  This time, we chat to the gorgeous Anna Fischer who stars in We Are The Night.

How was We Are The Night for you?

It was always a dream of mine to cast an undead character role, impersonating a vampire yippee yeah. Driving fast cars, endless shopping, taking actions without legal repercussions, biting people; that sound like fun. The plot being an unusual theme for a German production and working aside with such illustrious colleagues made the package complete.

How did you get involved with the film?

I got involved throughout the normal casting procedure and the Producer was immediately convinced that I would be the perfect match for the role of Nora.

How would you describe your character?

At the time she got turned into a vampire she was still too young to learn about values and responsibilities in society, therefore she got stuck in a limbo of pleasure and lust, she does not see what is wrong or right, she acts maybe naively throughout her instincts. She represents the free child with no boundaries; she is the true feral vampire in the group.

Do you feel We Are The Night has an underlying message?

Love always triumphs!

Any films you have seen that have left a lasting impression on you?

Pedro Almodovar’s “The Skin I Live In“, an incredible complex narrative storyline with excellent actors, “Moonrise Kingdom” from Wes Anderson, such a perfect and precise art directed movie, and Stanley Kubrick’s “Clockwork Orange”!

Anything you want to get off your chest right now?

Never lay your knee under the wheel of an oxcart? … Maybe … Get out and live your life.
