Tom Cruise Through The Years

film reviews | movies | features | BRWC Tom Cruise Through The Years

As Tom Cruise gets ready to set the stage on fire in the brand new film Rock of Ages, we have taken a look back through the film archives to remind ourselves of some of his more surprising and finest films to date!

Although probably best loved for his work in Top Gun and the Mission Impossible franchise, he’s also started in a range of other hit movies.

Early on in his career he wowed in high-stakes thriller Risky Business (1983), and starred opposite a young Kirsten Dunst, Brad Pitt and Thandie Newton in the 1994 film Interview with a Vampire, playing a ferocious vampire who helps Brad Pitt’s character to become a vampire too.

Later he starred opposite ex-wife Nicole Kidman in Stanley Kubrick’s controversial final film, the 1999 sexually charged drama, Eyes Wide Shut.

More recently he starred in the hit film The Last Samurai– where he played a 19th century American military advisor who embraces the Samurai culture he was hired to destroy.

Now with our appetites whetted we can’t wait to get down to the cinema and watch him wiggle his hips as Stacey Jaxx in Rock of Ages!

Eyes Wide Shut, Risky Business, Interview with a Vampire and The Last Samurai are all available on DVD and to download on iTunes now.

Rock of Ages is released on Friday.
