I’m sorry but there are just some things you don’t mess with. The original Karate Kid was the first film I fell in love with as an 9 year old boy. I had a dodgy pirate copy from my Arthur Daley-like uncle which I watched over and over until the tape wore out. You can’t improve on Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Martin Kove, so why bother. And Banarama’s Cruel Summer. Need I say more.
