ET was a better film than Gandhi and should have won more Oscars according to Lord Attenborough.

In an interview with Simon Mayo on BBC Radio Five Live, the director of Gandhi stated “ET depended absolutely on the concept of cinema and I think that Steven Spielberg…is a genius… ET is a quite extraordinary piece of cinema.”
