If you’re a Star Wars fan, you might not want to watch the most recent film in the franchise. Solo has received pretty mixed reviews across the board and fans have been left feeling disappointed. Many have suggested that the lack of fanfare is due to the fact that we don’t need a film about the origins of Han Solo, and the opening weekend of the film was possibly overshadowed by a bigger global event. The Royal Wedding took place on the 19th May and left many around the world feeling a little glum, as the world’s most eligible bachelor was finally taken off the shelves.
If you’ve still got your heart set on the ruby-haired English prince, you could check out dating app Badoo, which has a ‘lookalikes’ feature, enabling you to search for people who look a little like your unrequited love. Or, if you’re a Star Wars fan, you could peruse our list of bachelors who have graced our screens in the Star Wars franchise. Should we mention The Phantom Menace years?
Riz Ahmed
Riz Ahmed appeared in Rogue One as Bodhi Rock, the defected Imperial pilot. He has received multiple Emmys for his television work. The 34-year-old has been particularly coy about his private life, insisting that he is not currently seeing anyone and that his career takes precedence over any romantic possibilities. That being said, Riz is a naturally talented guy and an activist. He rapped a verse for Lin Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton mix-tape and is set to star in a new Marvel film where is will play the bad guy. Okay Riz, you’re a workaholic.
Ewan McGregor
Ewan McGregor had the pleasure of appearing in the ‘lost years’ of the franchise, which is probably more famous for Hayden Christensen’s hatred of sand than for the storylines themselves. Nevertheless, McGregor is a part of the franchise, and is hot stuff in Hollywood. He recently starred in Trainspotting T2 and, after a brief relationship with Fargo co-star Mary Elisabeth Winstead, he is now back on the market. The lilting celtic accent and light stubble is enough to make anyone weak at the knees – including Darth Maul.
Domhnall Gleeson
If you’re mourning the marriage of Prince Harry and ginger-haired men are your thing, Domhnall Gleeson is your man. Gleeson played General Hux in franchise installments and rose to promenance playing Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter series. It must have helped having Brendan Gleeson as his father but Domhnall has earned his place in the industry on his own merit. He has a Tony nomination to his name and has also written and directed short films. Eat that, Prince Harry! Not bitter at all…
With over 600 total cast members in all of the Star Wars films, there are bound to be many more eligible bachelors out there in the galaxy. Most of the principal cast is happily married and, whilst we would love to add Donald Glover to the list, the presence of his partner and two children prohibits us from doing so. Perhaps superfans have other ideas as to who is the most eligible bachelor on the planet. May the force be with you!
