Aaaaaaaah!
Sighteers’ Steve Oram turns his hand to directing with this bizarre satire in which people have devolved into grunting, fighting and faeces-flinging apes. In much the same way as The Greasy Strangler, many gave it kudos for its surrealist humour (it stars both of Boosh’s Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding, as well as Toyah Willcox) but unfortunately, I just found it to be ugly, unpleasant and unfunny.
Noah
Darren Aronofsky can make great films; Pi, The Wrestler, Black Swan… even mother! was an experience, for better or worse. Noah is no such great film. It’s a tiresome trudge through some gloomy biblical bollocks about how everyone’s awful except this one guy that’s happy to let everyone else drown. Well, fuck you, Noah, and your floating zoo too.
