Hit The Road: Review

  • by

Four young friends take a road trip to the beach, but their journey takes a darker turn.

Not a bad early effort at all from these Trinity St. David’s Acting students, Hit The Road shows real writing promise that belies the low production values.

The four characters are set up efficiently and economically early on, with only a few shots giving insight into who these people are. Having been written by actual young people, there’s a naturalism to their characters, and common yoof clichés are (for the most part) avoided. The narrative unfolds nicely, as the darker shades of the story reveal themselves, leading to a heartbreaking finale that’s unexpected, yet not incongruous.
