  • Speed Quizzing

    Speed Quizzing

    Looks interesting.

An app which integrates smartphones into pub quizzes.

SpeedQuizzing smartphone pub quizzes, which are hosted from a laptop computer and played using smartphones, tablets etc, are a billion times more fun than the old pen and paper format trivia / quiz nights.

The all important “speed” element that SpeedQuizzing injects into the pub quiz formula makes for serious high-octane fun, but also ensures it is impossible to cheat so the real winners always take home the prizes.

Powder Room Trailer (EDIT – Cinema Date!)

Sheridan Smith plays Down-on-her-luck Sam, who leads us on a comedic and voyeuristic journey into the lives of a multitude of women at all stages of love and life, over the course of one crazy night out.  Amidst the shambles of a night on the town, she realises her life is an empty mess, coloured only by her dysfunctional, but devoted ensemble of close friends, Chanel (Jaime Winstone), Saskia (Sarah Hoare) and Paige (Riann Steele). She wants to grow up, but is finding it difficult.

In an attempt to broaden her horizons, Sam meets up with her old college friend Michelle (Kate Nash), who she hasn’t seen for years, and Michelle has subsequently gone to Paris, has a glamorous job, earns a lot of money, has got engaged, and is living the life that Sam aspires to and enviously follows on Facebook. Michelle has brought her friend Jess (Oona Chaplin), who is even more intimidatingly glamorous. Sam feels inadequate and inhibited in their company, so starts telling little white lies. It all spirals out of control until she’s created an entirely fictional existence. Sam spends her whole evening trying to stop this house of cards from falling down. Faced with some very harsh realities, can Sam remain true to herself and find a way back from rock bottom?

Introducing music by Fake Club who also feature in the film.

MJ Delaney is a young British director, born and raised in London. Powder Room is her first feature. More than 2.5 million people watched MJ’s video in just a couple of weeks (after which it was promptly removed by EMI for copyright infringement) making Newport State of Mind, a gentle spoof of Jay Z’s Empire State of Mind, one of the biggest internet hits of all time.

  • A Hijacking Hits

    A Hijacking Hits

Opening in cinemas to rave reviews back in May, tense drama A Hijacking finally comes to DVD & Blu-ray. Directed by Tobias Lindholm, writer of Borgen and The Hunt, A Hijacking is one of the must-own Home Entertainment releases of the year.

The film is a highly acclaimed and intensely realistic film starring Pilou Asbæk (Borgen, The Whistleblower, A Family), Søren Malling (The Killing, A Royal Affair) and Screen Actors Guild Awards Outstanding Performance nominee Dar Salim (The Devil’s Double), and is an engrossing journey of a cargo ship taken hostage by Somali pirates.

Before thrilling cinema goers, A Hijacking was the stand out film at the Venice, Toronto and BFI London festivals last year.

The cargo ship MV Rozen is heading for harbour when it is hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. Amongst the men on board are the ship’s cook Mikkel (Pilou Asbæk) and the engineer Jan (Roland Møller), who along with the rest of the seamen are taken hostage in a cynical game of life and death. With the demand for a ransom of millions of dollars a psychological drama unfolds between the CEO of the shipping company (Søren Malling) and the Somali pirates.

A Hijacking is released by Arrow Films.
