My Amityville Horror Available 28 October 2013

For most people, “Amityville Horror” was just a movie, but for Daniel Lutz, who lived at the infamous house at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York, it was real life.

In 1975, when Daniel was 10, his family lived there for just 28 days before fleeing in terror, the victims of widespread supernatural happenings that pushed them to the brink of madness and had them fearing for their lives. A media circus began that never fully ended.

Up until their recent deaths, his parents George and Kathy Lutz, never went back on a single claim. In the 35 years since the ordeal, Daniel has never spoken on the record about his experiences. This is his story, in his words.

For the first time in 35 years, child eyewitness Daniel Lutz recounts his version of the infamous Amityville haunting that terrified his family in 1975.

My Amityville Horror is a gripping documentary that details the struggle behind growing up as part of a world famous haunting and shows that while Daniel’s facts may be other’s fiction, the psychological scars he carries are all too real.

This engaging documentary also features Daniel Lutz meeting famed demonologist & clairvoyant Lorraine Warren, who, alongside her late-husband Ed, visited the infamous Amityville house after the Lutz family fled in 1975.
Ed and Lorraine, who were most recently featured in the horror-smash hit The Conjuring, are seen throughout the documentary in rare photographs examining the house. Lorraine, now 86, also stars in the movie and is featured meeting Daniel Lutz in as they discuss the infamous house and her recollections of it.

At The Conjuring press junket in San Francisco recently, Lorraine Warren was asked how the 1971 case of the Perron family in Harrisville, Rhode Island, which inspired The Conjuring, compares with the horror that the Lutz family experienced in Amityville, New York back in the mid ’70s.

Warren laughed, as if there is no comparison at all. “Amityville was horrible. It was absolutely horrible,” she said. “I don’t even like to talk about it. I will never go in the Amityville house ever again. You know how long my career is and that’s the only one.”

Warren’s career is indeed long and she and her husband investigated well over 4,000 cases in their time. So when Warren says that the Amityville house is the one haunted house she won’t return to, it’s apparent that something terrifying went down there.

Smash & Grab: The Story Of The Pink Panthers

The Pink Panthers are the world’s most successful diamond thieves. The Serbian and Montenegrin gang has stolen over $330,000,000 dollars worth of jewels from boutiques in the world’s most opulent cities: Geneva, Paris, London, Dubai and Tokyo. With incredible unprecedented access, gang members Mike and Lela tell their story using a unique and cutting edge animation style (for obvious reasons they wouldn’t show their faces). In addition we see an interview with Lucky, a courier, and Mr Green the fence, or final link in the illicit diamond trade.

Mike and Lela recount growing up in Yugoslavia, the breakdown of the country and the rise of the criminal state under Milosovic. As sanctions are imposed by the West in 1992, an explosion of mafia networks takes place, of which the Panthers are just one. As refugees flood into Europe so do the crooks – the affects of which are still felt today.

Intercut with their stories are Inspector Yaan Glassey of the Geneva Anti-Criminal Brigade and Captain Hervé Conan of the Paris police. They describe their ambitions and achievements in the global mission to track the gang down and take them to court.

    PABLO

The film is narrated by Oscar winner Jeff Bridges and features appearances by Anjelica Huston, Stan Lee, Beau Bridges, Jon Voight, Leonard Maltin and many more. Pablo will be available on cable VOD October 1 and on DVD November 5.

Pablo tells the story of the life and times of legendary film title designer Pablo Ferro. Using a blend of character animation, motion design and documentary footage, Pablo tracks Pablo Ferro’s rise as a poor Cuban immigrant to the heights of the Madison Avenue commercial industry, to becoming one of the most celebrated designers in movie history and finally to his current home in the garage behind his son’s house.

    275

The film centers on Pablo’s presence in the New York counter culture scene of the 1960s until the mysterious brush with death that changed his life forever. The animation part of the film takes us through the dreamscape of Pablo’s memories, while the documentary footage chronicles a very eccentric lifestyle of a 72 year old artist, once hailed by Stanley Kubrick as the father of the sixties look and the MTV aesthetics.
